The Luminal Being depicts a lifeform born at the threshold between light and consciousness. In this work, Liora Veylin proposes that existence is not a fixed form, but a transient pattern shaped by waves of light. The entity, reminiscent of a jellyfish, is less a creature of the sea than a visual manifestation of cosmic awareness. The flowing teal currents that envelop its body symbolize the movement of emotion, while the intricate golden neural lattice represents the circuitry of thought. At its core, a pulse of crimson light — the Identity Pulse — flickers as the rhythm of selfhood.
Though the composition appears still, within it reverberates an unending sequence of vibrations. Liora describes this phenomenon as “the heartbeat of life composed of light itself.” Through this luminescent being, she reveals her vision of interconnectedness — that every form of life is bound together through the shared resonance of light.
